About the Pub
Old Coaching inn in the centre of town and next to the Samuel Smith Brewery, making it the brewery tap. Large wood-panelled interior with two huge log fires in winter. Rear door leads to courtyard, the Brewery and the stables for the grey dray shire horses which are used to deliver to local pubs. All cask beer is served from wooden casks. No dogs are permitted here except guide and assistance dogs.
