About the Pub

Large, comfortable and friendly 17th century 4* coaching inn which caters for travellers with en-suite accommodation and also offers good quality food. Various themed food evenings and quiz nights. The pub's name refers to a legend that Kingsbury Hill (in Fornham St Genevieve) marks the grave of three kings.

Historic Interest

A report in the Bury & Norwich Post** on Aug-14 in 1860 when John Ruffells was the landlord states that : "Ruffles was charged with selling beer before 12.30 on a Sunday morning. He said that he saw nothing wrong in it, the Bench asked had he not read his license. He replied he was no scholar & the Bench retorted he should not take a public house unless he was a scholar. Fined 10s with 8s costs." The building dates from the early to mid 17th century. Photographs of this pub and more historical information about it can be found at suffolkcamra.co.uk/pubs/pub/307
