About the Pub

Dating from an 1865 rebuild, after several years as a burger restaurant this previous M&B pub was taken over by the American fast-casual restaurant and bar brand Genuine Liquorette and opened here in October 2018.

The New York-inspired bar offers "signature experiences aimed at breaking traditional cocktail norms" by handing an element of control over to its guests – via a form of self-service, creating their own cocktails, or taking part in cocktail masterclasses. Customers can make "Cha-Chunker" cocktails – using a machine with a metal point to widen the hole of any canned drink so that a miniature bottle of alcohol can then be inverted into it!

The venue combines two bars, a cocktail takeaway and delivery service covering most of London, and an off-licence.

There are two floors; the downstairs tap room serves a couple of draught lagers plus draught IPA and a pale ale, as well as wine and cocktails; the upstairs cocktail bar has bottled beers only. Prices reflect the location and ambience.

Food is of the pizza variety; the corners are folded over to make a star-shape.

Historic Interest

In its days as an authentic boozer, the poet Dylan Thomas was once told “We don’t want your sort in here”.
