About the Pub

Originally built as the brewery tap of William Wells Britannia Brewery in 1834 and later licensed as a beer house called the Brewery Tap until 1939. This Young's tied house was extensively refurbished some years ago and is immaculately presented. The interior is modern and stylish, with different seating areas by the bar. There is a 50-seat restaurant at the rear and outside seating along the side of the pub, where smoking is allowed. Another refurbishment, in mid-2014, has left the interior largely unchanged, with the addition of two function rooms and even squidgier settees. The first-floor bar is accessed via a spiral staircase and doubles as a function room.
