About the Pub

A busy traditional pub, almost opposite Pimlico Station, with a lively clientele. Built in 1841 by Thomas Cubitt as part of his Pimlico Triangle and originally the Perseverance, it became the Queen of Denmark in 1984 before adopting its current name in 1992. Above the comfortable, carpeted lounge bar, decorated with interesting prints and offering TV sports, there is indeed the eponymous mezzanine providing extra seating and bookable for private parties, as is the area to the rear of the bar. The menu offers a range of classic pub dishes, plus burgers, ciabatta sandwiches and sharing platters, all at prices considered reasonable for the area. If you do not want to eat in the bar there is a restaurant room upstairs.

Note that mid-pandemic in late 2021, the previous five real ales here had reportedly been reduced to only one or two on offer.

Note also that alcohol is not for sale until noon on Sundays.
