NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever as they recover following the pandemic.

COVID restrictions are no longer a legal requirement in pubs and clubs, but please be aware that many venues will choose to keep some measures in place for the safety of customers and staff.

Opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting updates on the pub.

About the Pub

This welcome retreat from Villiers Street has portraits and biographies of famous local residents on the walls of the ground-floor bar, including Alexandra, wife of Edward VII, after whom the pub was named (despite contrary information on the pub's web-site). The upstairs "Rudyard Kipling Dining Lounge" has its own bar and street entrance. There are occasional "Meet the Brewer" evenings and Nicholson's Beer Festivals. Be aware that after 8 PM beer is only served in plastic containers due to the adjacency of Charing Cross railway station.
