About the Pub

Multiple award winning free house close to the famous Mersey ferries, rescued after closure and refurbished in 2010 by a former Irish Guardsman as a unique pub with barber's shop. The barber's shop business closed in October 2016 creating more room for pub customers. The outside area at the rear of the pub has a retractable roof. The pub is decorated with a fascinating range of military memorabilia and a collection of shipping images. The mural on the side wall of the pub was completed in February 2020 and commemorates the sinking of HMS Birkenhead and the Birkenhead Drill, 'women and children first.'

Several ciders are always available. Meals until 9.00pm every day except Monday. Live music every Sunday from 6.30pm and Cheese Night on the last Sunday of the month; bring your own cheese.
