NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.
But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.
If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub
Known locally as 'The Sett' this two-roomed free house is popular with fishermen and twitchers as it is close to the Anglers Country Park. Can be reached from Wakefield using Nos. 194/5/6 buses (to Hemsworth or Newstead) GBG says: a rural alehouse that is an increasingly rare example of a no frills old fashioned community pub. There is a lively local clientele with many old pitmen and many old tales to be told. Close to Anglers Country Park, Haw Wood and the Transpennine Trail. It is also frequented by birders, walkers, cyclists and bikers. There are benches and a garden for fine weather drinking, with a large car park opposite. Wintersett Lakes Camping & Caravanning is a short walk away. Due to its isolated location it may close early if trade is slow, and the pub is not normally open Tuesday evenings. Pub of the Year 2013 Runner-Up.
