NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Under this stage of the roadmap in England pubs can only open outdoor areas and many will only be open for customers who have pre-booked. Alcohol can now also be sold for takeaway, as well as delivery.

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub

The Ducie Arms is a traditional pub hidden away at the west side of the University Of Manchester campus and close to the Manchester Science Park. Although technically on Devas Street, the street was split into two by the building of the Contact Theatre and other University buildings leaving The Ducie as the only building on the short stub western end of the street - effectively the pub is on LLoyd Street North.

Entering the pub there is a small room to the right while in front of you is a short staircase leading to the main bar area. The long bar stretches across the width of the pub. There is a further seating area above the main bar. There is also a patio area in front of the pub with picnic tables for those summer days.

A range of guest ales are available, all from the Marstons stable. Brakspear Oxford Gold alternates with Ringwood Boondongle & Bank's Sunbeam as the regular bitter with at least one other guest available at all times - the pub is a great place to catch rare beers from the Marstons' stable that aren't usually seen outside of their local areas.

Thatchers Cheddar Valley & Thatchers Traditional cider are also served on handpump.

There is a more interesting range of speciality bottle beers than would be expected in such a traditional pub.

The pub offers a range of traditional pub grub alongside more unusual specials such as Llama burgers or kangaroo steaks.

Because of its location, the pub gets most of its business at lunchtimes and early evenings and therefore operates some interesting opening hours. They don't open Weekends or Bank holidays plus they have restricted hours in the week (closed between 2 & 4). Later in the evening, the pub only stays open if there are customers

Food served 12:00-14:00 & 17:30-20:00.

Please note: last orders for food on a lunchtime is usually 13:30 and for drinks: 13:45; closing at 14:15.

Last orders for food in the evening: 19:30.

The pub is available for private functions Saturday evenings.
