About the Pub

A very friendly 2-roomed traditional locals' pub, formerly a 19th century coaching inn.

It is used by local groups and is popular with bikers, walkers, cyclists and bridge players. Beers on the 5 handpulls are always local ales. The conservatory leads to the small covered courtyard used as a smoking area. Filled cobs and traditional snacks are available. Note the bar in the front snug room is partially made from railway sleepers.

Historic Interest

At one time the Bell & Talbot was also a wet fish shop. Bought by Ansells Brewery of Aston, Birmingham in the 1920's, the Bell & Talbot was operated between 1983-88 by the Little Pub Company (a marketing arm of the brewery) It was then sold as a free house which it remains as today.
