About the Pub

The Glue Pot is part of the historic sandstone Railway Village built in the 1840s. There are seven Hop Back or Downton ales (some seasonal) and one guest ale. Local CAMRA cider pub of the year for 2016 & 2017, it stocks nine real ciders. A range of sandwiches, wraps and subs is always available. Normally a quiet pub, but it gets quite busy at weekend evenings. There is a pub quiz on Wednesday night. On Monday’s there is real ale price reduction. There is a beer festival every Easter weekend.

Historic Interest

One of the trio of Railway Village pubs, the Glue Pot opened before 1850. One window still shows the Allsopp's logo. It was also a grocer's shop. Around 1900 it was known as the London Stout Tavern.
