About the Pub

Large open-plan Wetherspoon pub housed in a former snooker hall and ice cream parlour. It is named after a Norman knight and lord of the manor whose descendants later emigrated to the United States. The pub offers value-for-money beer and the usual well-priced Wetherspoon menu. The regular ales are complemented by up to four guests and at least two real ciders. Twice yearly beer festivals are held and a large selection of local and international bottled beers are now available. There is a bus station opposite the pub. A beer garden protected by a tall fence, has been provided to the side of the pub.
