About the Pub
The pub is owned by same company which also owns Isaac's and the Briarbank brewery and tap.
Historic Interest
In 1970s it had a reputation as a "bikers" pub In mid 1990s after closure in 1994. it was used as an off-licence warehouse for several years & was then called Mr Wines & Beers. Sadly the original bar counter & back bar were sold off & are now fitted in an American bar. Previously it was listed as the New Gardener's Arms in 1881, suggesting that the pub had replaced a different building of the same name (located on the other side of road). It was still known as the New Gardeners Arms as late as 1928.
