NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

South Oxfordshire CAMRA Branch has created a spreadsheet on its website with the latest operating status of all pubs in the Branch area. This includes, for example, opening hours and takeaway and delivery services, amongst other important information. This is of course dependant on the current tier or lockdown restrictions the pubs find themselves in. The Branch continually updates this information. Access to the Directory is provided by the URL link below.

About the Pub

Originally a Wethered pub, it was more recently purchased by chef Anthony Worrall Thompson. It is now a very popular restaurant-cum-freehouse. Although mainly laid out with tables for dining to both the left and right on entering, there is a central small bar area where drinkers are most welcome just to pop in for a beer or two. There are usually three ales on handpump, with Rebellion IPA and Black Sheep Best Bitter being regular choices. The dining room to the right is in an old barn conversion and is filled with trinkets, pictures and artefacts to give it a cosy and intimate feel. Antony Worrall Thomson is himself the Head Chef, with Jay Worrall Thomson in charge at front-of-house. The menu includes comforting pub classics as well as signature dishes. Fresh, seasonal food is used, more often than not supplied by local producers. Note - the Greyhound is closed on Monday and Tuesday
