About the Pub

Under new management since October 2017, the Craven is a pleasant white-washed Thwaites pub situated next to Stainforth Beck. Retaining a multi-roomed layout, there is a small tap room on the left as you enter, a wood-panelled lounge at the rear and a further snug with an interesting stained-glass window beyond the bar. The dining room (on the right as you enter) and accommodation were fully refurbished in 2014. A community pub, the Craven is also popular with walkers - it is close to Pen-y-Ghent, Catrigg Force and Craven Lime Works, one of the largest industrial archeology sites in the Dales.
