Reopened on July 16th. As well as serving food and drinks, accommodation will become available in the week commencing 27th July. NOTE: Currently operating winter hours because of the virus, so does not open until 4pm weekdays. A one-way system is in operation - enter by the tap-room door (on the A65) or the car park (on the West side of the pub), leave by the door on the Gisburn road. This is a spacious pub inside and there is a large outside drinking area (with really solid, newly constructed tables), so advance booking is not required. Staff wear face coverings. Three cask beers were available on 25/07/2020 - two from Goose Eye and one from Copper Dragon. Expected to participate in 'Eat Out to Help Out' government meal voucher scheme (Mon-Wed in August).

About the Pub

Large rambling village pub, transformed into a popular venue for dining and drinking. There is a small tap room accessed from the main A65 and a much more spacious, partially panelled main lounge with large settees and coffee tables for lounging surrounded by more conventional tables to sit and eat. A large wood-burning stove helps warm the room in winter. Note the collection of musical instruments above the bar and elsewhere. There is also a separate small dining room suitable for meetings, family gatherings and other small functions. Ample outdoor drinking areas at both sides of the building ensure that there is always somewhere to sit in the sun, when it's shining. Up to 4 real ales are available in summer, 3 in winter, usually from local breweries and often with a choice of styles. Quiz Tuesday. Carvery Sunday lunch-time. Sporting events broadcast on terrestrial TV are often shown.
