About the Pub

Popular four room village pub with exposed timbers said to have come from ship of the same name, refurbished in February 2015. Built in 1735, with a chequered history as a hotel, brothel, council meeting room and dance hall before becoming the pub that it is today. Children and dogs are welcomed if well behaved. Food, served daily lunch and evening. Formerly the home of Naylor's Brewery, which is now located down Station Road, but still a regular outlet for their beers. The back room has darts and ring the bull whilst the top room with its stone-flagged floor is used mainly for consuming the good-value, home-cooked food. There is a quiz every Thursday evening
