About the Pub

Reopened in December 2015 following substantial renovation.

The new owners have carried out extensive work including fitting a new oak bar, state-of-the-art kitchen and a new beer garden with its own bar, toilets, pizza oven and stage.

There are five en-suite B&B rooms which have also been completely refurbished.

It's a two-roomed pub mainly set out in a "U" shape, with tiled and wooden flooring, chunky pub furniture, and an open log/coal fire. A seperate dining/function room was created in 2017 and is available for private parties.

The beer range usually includes a house ale called 'Since 1861' (a reference to the age of the pub) and guest ales which change regularly.
