About the Pub

Traditional pub in St Mary's churchyard. Three rooms with low ceilings supported by oak beams. One of four pubs in the UK with claims to be built on holy ground. Originally house for chaplains from mid-13th century becoming a public house in 1804. Sword dancers practice here in the winter.

Opened as a Chantry Brewery pub., 16th.May 2019.
