About the Pub

This characterful 16th-century pub is located in the attractive St Michael's area of St Albans. A short walk from the city centre and Abbey, it sits on the edge of Verulamium Park and close to the Roman Museum. Four regular beers and two changing guests, always including at least one offering from Hertfordshire. Real cider may be available on hand-pull in the summer months. Good quality home-cooked food is served lunchtimes and evenings and themed food evenings are run from time to time. Outside there is a pleasant patio area. Famously dog friendly.
