About the Pub

16th-century free house with three regular beers and three changing guests with at least one from a Herts brewer. The only licensed premises within the walls of Roman Verulamium and within walking distance of the city centre, Cathedral, Park and Museum. Occasional quiz nights and live music feature. Good home cooked food served lunchtimes and evenings (not Sunday evenings). Check out the large pub fireplace and pleasant patio area. Real cider is available during the summer months.
