NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.
But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.
If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub
The Star became a beerhouse soon after 1830, but parts of the building are older. It has a small, separate public bar at the front, with the main rooms of the pub to the side. Between the dark oak beams of the ceiling hang hundreds of pubs clips. Behind the narrow bar is a patio with smoking area and a separate lounge (The Garden Room) with deep sofas. Dogs are welcome in here. Up to nine real ales and six or more ciders and perries are available, and regular beer festivals are held at Easter and Halloween. Sunday is quiz night and there is folk music on Mondays. May stay open later on Friday and Saturday if busy. The Star is especially renowned for its selection of ciders and perries, with around six from an ever changing range, sourced by the landlord directly from the National Cider Farm in Sussex. Notably, the Star usually stocks a draft mead. In Summer 2017 the Stable Cider Bar was opened in the garden which serves a different range of ciders together with a single real ale. This bar is open Thursday to Sunday. A dedicated cider bar opens into the lounge as well as the garden. The pub has won many CAMRA and other awards for cider and perry.
