About the Pub

New licensees took over the pub in September 2020, so stated beer range may vary.

A welcoming and friendly community pub with a public bar, saloon bar and small dining area. The pub prides itself on its home made food and has food night promotions midweek. The garden isn't big but makes a nice sun trap on a good day. The pub hosts a quiz on Tuesday nights and frequently runs promotions on its drinks. The two regular beers are usually accompanied by a seasonal beer (two in winter) picked from the Enterprise list giving them access to a wide variety of breweries. There is an interesting history of pub and Simonds Brewery (Followed by Courage and successors) on display.

Historic Interest

Pub was originally on other side of road. Rebuilt on present site 1912. Part of the old house almost opposite was the old Fox & Hounds, Nell Gwynne is reputed to have given birth to a still born child there however there is little evidence to support the claim.
