This pub is long-term Closed. - The freehold was put up for sale in late 2016 and the pub subsequently closed. In 2018 the new owner was refused planning permission to demolish the property and construct 14 serviced apartments with replacement public house. In May 2019 planning permission was granted for demolition of the rear extension and construction of 6 terraced residential units. In May 2020 a further planning application was submitted to refurbish the pub and B&B accommodation and construct 4 storey apart-hotel at the rear.
