About the Pub

Former Antic pub now run by Portobello Brewery with shabby chic decor, and with a relaxed, homely ambience - almost romantic come evenings. Its L-shaped bar leads to a conservatory and an open-to-view kitchen. The clientèle is a mixture of local academia, musicians and people out for an enjoyable time meaning it is usually thriving up until closing time. A front patio offers outside drinking. Guest beers have a mainly regional focus, including from newly opened microbreweries. Quiz on Monday evening, Open mic on Wednesday evening, superb live jazz on Sunday and a DJ on the last Friday of the month. The food offering includes burgers and steak. Deptford Bridge DLR station is not far away. Although run by Portobello there is no guarantee its cask ales will always be available but its keg beers are ever present. There are 8 handpumps but the number of cask ales will vary by days of the week and season as demand permits. The adjacent physically connected Edna & Roy pizza operation building is currently closed.
