Updates

Opened 4th July. Sharps's new beer Sublime Sundown on handpull.Remember that not a single member of bar staff is suddenly an expert in disease control, politics or even all the policies of their own Pub.
So when 20 of you show up to finally go out on the lash after 3 months of lockdown, it's not the minimum wage bar person's decision to tell you no, but they HAVE to anyway.
When 7 or more of you try to book a meal because you've not seen your grandkids for 3 months, it's not the manager's fault group sizes are limited so don't demand to see them and tell them they're wrong because their NOT.
PLEASE remember that when pubs aren't exactly how you remember them, or hoped they would be, we've all been in lockdown too.
No, we can't just move some tables together. No, we can't turn a blind eye (you know, just this once). And no, a bad Trip Advisor review won't help.
Things will get back to normal, just not straight away. Please be patient . And show some common sense.

About the Pub

Large pub situated between Brinsworth and Catcliffe and also close to both the Sheffield Parkway (A630) and the M1 (Jct 33). There is a substantial car park area, a children's play area and a grassed area for outside events. Consists of two distinct rooms internally with the larger room featuring live entertainment events and the smaller room doubling as a lounge and bar area. The new Waverley housing development and AMRC commerce park are close-by. After a period without, a single real ale has recently reappeared on the bar. Regular events and club meets are held in the car park and grassed area. Licensing hours were recently extended.

Historic Interest

A new build opened in 1984 by Ron and Lorraine Woodthorpe on the site of an old farmhouse. Some materials from the farmhouse were incorporated in the new building. Named after it's close proximity to the Waverley coal seam.
