NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Under this stage of the roadmap in England pubs can only open outdoor areas and many will only be open for customers who have pre-booked. Alcohol can now also be sold for takeaway, as well as delivery.

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

Please see pub Facebook or website for details of any take-out or delivery services available and any news about future reopening. Updated 19 Jan.

About the Pub

Opened in mid-July 2014, this was the first micropub in The Potteries branch area within a converted antiques shop - the bar is located on the right of the entrance and the cellar is in the window.

The front room has high wooden benches, while the back room has more traditional chairs and tables which also serves as a function room if booked.

Five ales are served off handpump at any one time, with new and rare beers being a speciality, plus some beers brewed exclusively for the pub (or even by the pub staff on one occasion). The pub sometimes serves straight from the barrel, to increase the beers available. Nine real ciders are also stocked, plus bottled lager. Alongside more traditional wines and spirits, there is an extensive range of 21 speciality and rare rums.

Customers are welcome to bring their own lunch and eat it while supping the beer. Oh, and watch out for the ferret! Third pint tasting bats are available, as are basic snacks such as pickled eggs and pork scratchings. Two and four-pint takeouts are available. Note that the pub is open all day on Bank Holiday weekends, including longer in the evenings. A brilliant addition to the burgeoning Newcastle real ale scene!

In 2020, the building is now owned by the pub and they have plans to open an upstairs drinking area as well as opening a small beer garden to the rear.
