NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Under this stage of the roadmap in England pubs can only open outdoor areas and many will only be open for customers who have pre-booked. Alcohol can now also be sold for takeaway, as well as delivery.

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

Updates

Please see pub Facebook or website for details of any take-out or delivery services available and any news about future reopening. Updated 19 Jan.

About the Pub

Sat at the top of Alsagers Bank with breathtaking views from the Beer Garden and the dining rooms. Perfect for enjoying a well-earned pint after a walk in nearby Bateswood or Apedale country parks.

In 2019, the owners of the Artisan Tap took over this award winning pub.

The Gresley offers four rooms; an expertly refurbished bar with slate floors, 200 year oak beams and real fire, and a warm and friendly lounge; the bottom room is home to the monthly folk nights and the dining room where hearty meals are served.

The house beer, Gresley Blonde, is brewed by a secret local brewery and the guest beers can hail from any brewery in the country.
