A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub

Dating back to 1711, and under this name since 1900, this single-room bar reflects the street corner aspect with an L-shaped bar decorated with naval memorabilia. A rare place to find a good pint of Bass makes it worth seeking out, just a short distance from the cathedral. It is home to a darts team and hosts live music at weekends and occasionally during the week. It is a rare outlet for Draught Bass in the city.

Historic Interest

Under its formar name of the Little Blue Line it featured in novels by Captain Marryat. It is on the route of Lord Nelson's last walk on his way to join HMS Victory to sail to Trafalgar.
