About the Pub
Red brick pub with colourful flower displays in summer providing an attractive frontage. There are several drinking areas on different levels, including a conservatory and small pub garden. A rear two-floored room with a spiral staircase is used as a restaurant or function room. There are often a several local beer offerings, including Nottingham Brewery and Shipstones beers. Sport is shown on several screens. Re-opened after refurbishment on in September 2018, with the vision of being a 'proper pub' in the city centre.
Historic Interest
Fellows, Morton & Clayton is a Grade II listed building (No. 1271432). Originally a Victorian office building for the coal carrying company of the same name, it was built in 1895. Converted to a public house in 1980-1 (Historic England). Fellows, Morton & Clayton has an entry on Nottingham Civic Society's Draft Heritage List (09 December 2013), which noted that it was designed by architect W. Dymock Pratt, who also designed Via Fossa. Green plaque on the wall marks the location of Nottingham's first successful balloon flight in 1813. Fellows, Morton & Clayton is in Nottingham City Council's Nottingham Canal Conservation Area. As at November 2017, Leasehold NT492365 for the Fellows Morton & Clayton was held by Ei Group plc [Reg. No. 2562808], formerly Enterprise Inns. [Nottingham City Council, Bridge Ward / Nottingham South Parliamentary Constituency]
