About the Pub
Village local tucked up a hill away from the main street. Tiled floor in bar area and slate floors on the raised lounge/performance area. Chimney with real log burner separates the bar from the pool table.
Historic Interest
Asset of Community Value registered on the 18th January 2016 and nominated by the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA. The Anchor Inn is in Rushcliffe Borough Council's Sutton Bonington Conservation Area. Recorded as a public house in 1826 under John Bollard (Nottinghamshire Archives), in 1855 the publican was Mrs E. Bollard and in 1876 Joseph Bollard (Post Office Directories). The family are presumably remembered in the adjacent street name Bollards Lane. As at November 2017, the freehold for the Anchor Inn (NT416315) was held by Marston's Pubs Limited [Reg. No. 5453367].
