About the Pub

Extensively renovated and improved in September 2015. Carpeted throughout, the single roomed pub has been cleverly arranged so that there are a number of separate drinking areas. TV screens abound but are normally on mute to allow conversation to take place, with the aim of creating a traditional community ale house. Outside, at the rear, is a heated patio and smoking area complete with large TV screen. The pub operates 'Challenge 25' and no children are permitted. Refurbished in June 2019.

Historic Interest

Formerly a Hardys & Hansons tied house, the Plough & Harrow dates back to at least 1869 (J.H. Beardsmore 1909 / Asset of Community Value registered 11th March 2016 and nominated by the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA. Both the Plough & Harrow and the outbuildings to the rear along Vine Terrace have entries on Ashfield District Council's Local Heritage List (September 2016) as being "Locally Listed". As at November 2017, the freehold for the Plough & Harrow (NT443843) was held by Amber Taverns Limited (Reg. No. 5335601). [Ashfield District Council; Hucknall Central Ward / Sherwood Parliamentary Constituency]
