About the Pub

Previously the Parliament bar, amongst other names, this is a lively music bar adjacent to Hurts Yard.

Historic Interest

On Nottingham Civic Society's Draft Local Heritage List (09 December 2013), which notes that the 1928 "white faience frontage with Home Ales livery and larger-than-life fox" is by architect AE Eberlin. This facade hides a much older building behind the 1928 frontage. Prior to 1928 when it became the Fox, the pub was known as the Fox & Owl. More recently in 1989 it became known as Number 10, despite the fact that its address is actually 67 Upper Parliament Street (Whitworth 2010). In 1876 the Fox & Owl was a fully licensed establishment under victualler C. Hurt, when the street number was 67B (Post Office Directory). In Nottingham City Council's Old Market Square Conservation Area. As at November 2017, the Parliament Bar & Kitchen freehold (NT366429) was owned by Punch Partnerships (PTL) Limited [Reg. No. 3512363]. This was transferred to Star (Heineken) on 5th March 2018. [Nottingham City Council; Bridge Ward / Nottingham South Parliamentary Constituency]
