About the Pub

Single roomed pub with multiple areas, reopened after renovation and new owners on 11 June, 2021. Cask beers are often locally brewed.. Meals are available at lunchtime all week and evening weekdays with an emphasis on value for money. Live music is promoted every Friday to appeal to a wide range of musical tastes.

Historic Interest

Formerly a Shipstones tied house. As at November 2017, the Malt Shovel (Freehold NT20645) was owned by Punch Partnerships (PTL) Limited [Reg. No. 3512363] and transferred to Star (Heineken) on the 5th March 2018.
