About the Pub
Very much keg-only. Hand-pumps removed. Even the keg selection is reported as extremely lacklustre, with only two fonts present, and serving the likes of Fosters.
Their website says, "A quirky, colourful, LGBTQ+ and alternative lifestyle friendly venue in Clerkenwell, London where everyone is welcome. We’re more than a pub; we’re also an event venue and community hub. We host exciting workshops and events such as Body Positive Life Painting, Immersive Theatre Performances, Open Mics, Drag Cabarets and monthly Queer Clothes Swaps. Large pub with ‘L’ shaped blue-painted bar in front of a large bar back. There is a sizeable outside seating area. It is close to the Royal Mail Archive and Museum in Phoenix Place. They menu features snacks, sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes and traditional favourites including vegan and vegetarian options. Public Transport: Buses: 19, 38, 341 (Rosebery Avenue); 63 (Farringdon Road).
Historic Interest
Grade II listing:- Public house. Mid C19, altered C20. Grey stock brick with stucco dressings. 3 windows with 3-window return and 4-window 2 storey extension to Warner Street. 3 storeys and cellars. C20 wooden public house frontage with pilasters supporting a fascia, with original consoles, and windows with small panes. Segmental arched 1st floor 4-pane sashes with moulded hoods and keystones, linked by impost bands. Moulded 2nd floor string. 2nd floor architraved sashes. Cornice topped by a parapet with pierced decoration. INTERIOR: altered.
