About the Pub

CLOSED, CHANGE OF USE PERMITTED.

Planning app 19/04576/FULL: Use of existing public house (Class A4) at ground floor and basement levels as art gallery or office (Flexible Class A1/ B1a). Replacement ground floor level north elevation door with windows. Insertion of ground floor doors on corner of building. Replacement of two existing pavement lights. Replacement of the existing access hatch door with pavement light.

Permitted 31 Oct 2019.

Previous pub description follows:

During 2006 the pub closed for a thorough refurbishment, and then changed tenants with yet another change in decor and a resultant loss in cask beer. It occupies an impressive street corner site with some Bass Charrington signs indicating the former, long-gone owners. Closed again for a period but now seems to comprise a bar on the ground floor with a hostel providing very budget accommodation above. Closed again in November 2014 for conversion of upper floors to residential, supposedly retaining bar at ground floor. Marylebone closest tube/station but Edgware Rd not too far either.
