About the Pub

Recent visits, the latest being Sept 2021 show a lack of any handpumped beer or cider - there are around 20 keg beers from Hammerton. The pub is awaiting trade to return to "normal levels" before restoring cask. Payment by card only.

Opened in July 2017 by Hammerton Brewery, the pub has 20 keg lines and 4 handpumps. Note you have to read the printed beer menus to find out which beers are on cask as pump clips aren't used.

The bar walls are bare brick in the more recent style in places featuring memorabilia from an earlier incarnation of the Hammerton Brewery. The large windows at the front can be opened out in nice weather and two large upturned barrels have been converted to outside tables

There is also a take home can/bottle shop - large fridges display what's on offer. Peruvian inspired tapas is available - Wallpa Brasa - roti chicken, burgers, wings and such. See pub website for more detail.

Historic Interest

Locally listed as part of group 99-113. 1848 'Denmark Place'. Four storey symmetrical block. Ground floor shops. Central bay stock brick stucco architraves to windows. Third floor heavy cornice. Central window three light and arched.
