August 2021 - "Duke's Head now reopened (3 weeks now) … decked out like a honky tonk bar … new tenants … only been open 3 weeks … haven’t yet got a website / phone / social media … apart from an Instagram account thedukesofhighgate… "
NOTE 2020 update - the operators who took this pub into the Good Beer Guide have departed.
Former coaching inn with courtyard. In 2013, after a refurbishment, re-opened as a specialist beer house offering a large range of real ale, ciders and craft keg. The list seems to change regularly so visit its website for what's on - Hammerton is a regular, other examples have been One Mile End, Magic Rock, Moor, Siren, Burning Sky. Usually one mild, one porter/stout, a pale and a best bitter listed on a chalk board behind the bar. Joined CAMRA's LocAle scheme in Sept 2014. CAMRA North London Pub of the Season Autumn 2014.
