About the Pub

Situated by Saint Nicholas church about 100 yards off the main road in a quiet village which was first established by the Anglo Saxons. The origin of the name of this former coaching inn is a mystery although it was a local meeting place for farmers to settle their disputes and the name could have derived from this. Upon entry this stone built pub has a public bar to the right and a restaurant to the left. A lot of teams use the pub as their base and they are active in local leagues. Due to limited demand real ale is found in the warmer months of the year however recently this has become more infrequent.
