About the Pub

** Currently now only open on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday **. Cask ale and cider bar / café which opened on 19th December 2015 in the former Pizza Romana premises on a high pavement at the eastern end of the High Street, really nearer Chatham. Not quite a micropub, due to its significantly enhanced hot food offerings. Cunningly named after the flipping of crêpes (pancakes) and the French couple who run it. Melanie (The Microchef) is an experienced chef. Open view kitchen to the left and a small bar counter in the middle with jacket cooled gravity dispensed cask ales on a 2 tier wooden stillage behind the bar. Boxes of cider are kept in a fridge at the back. To the right is a wooden slatted walled seating area and there are high tables and seats at the front window. Sells Kentish cask ales and ciders /perries. There are two KeyKeg lines and wine, a locally distilled gin and a single malt whisky are also available as is Pimms in summer. Allegedly the inspiration for this venture came from drinking in the nearby Man of Kent. There are occasional music nights including open mic ones. The food offering ranges from cheese platters through to hot stews. Card payments now accepted here. Re - opened 6th September 2019 following the wedding of the owners after a brief honeymoon interlude!
