NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.
But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.
If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub
29/9/18 - a Planning Application, DC/071012, has been submitted for the conversion of these premises to offices: http://planning.stockport.gov.uk/PlanningData-live/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=PF943NPJGQ400&activeTab=summary. 8/1/13 - converted to Double Tree Indian restaurant. 1/1/12 - seemingly closed for good. 13/6/11 renamed as the Sozzled Sausage (was the Penny Black). This is the most recent addition to Cheadle Hulme village, opened in late 2007. The former Warren Road GPO local sorting and parcel distribution office has been extended and converted to a modern, Smith & Jones bar, somewhat along the lines of JD Wetherspoon. Attracts a mainly young customer base; however the presence of real ale may be an encouragement for a few older customers. There is a covered outdoor area at the front. The architect has made full use of the height of the existing building while providing a staircase to give access to first floor toilets in the extension alongside. Popular when first opened, it then settled to a steady trade.
