NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Under this stage of the roadmap in England pubs can only open outdoor areas and many will only be open for customers who have pre-booked. Alcohol can now also be sold for takeaway, as well as delivery

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

Updates

Subject to confirmation of Step 2 of the roadmap out of lockdown, this establishment is due to open for outdoor on-sales of DRINK ONLY on 12th April. Some of the outdoor areas may have no cover, so come prepared.

Bookings recommended but walk ups will be accommodated if space is available. Please cancel your booking if you can’t make it.

About the Pub

An imposing three-gabled building set slightly back on the A6. On entering there are large rooms left and right. Going forward into the bar area take note of the special tiles set at intervals round the bar. To the right is a large wooden screen which hides the entrance to the gents and on the left is a fine carved staircase leading to a large upstairs function room. The wide arch at the rear of the bar gives a more open aspect to the rear room. On the right of the rear door is a small room containing a pool table and a new door gives access to a newly constructed smoking area. The bar and each of the rooms have large TV screens. At the rear is a good sized car park and beyond a large well used bowling green, home to the Crown Hotel Bowling Club with some sixty plus members split into nine teams, the whole being enclosed by a wall and trees. Pies and bar snacks served 12-9 Wed-Fri; 12-8 Sat; 1-7 Sun. Refurbished October 2020.
