About the Pub

A hidden gem which has recently been repolished yet keeps its traditional back street boozer appeal. For historical reasons it is commonly known to the locals as the Lamp Oil. Three small rooms off a central corridor with a central bar. It is a Grade II listed building dating from 1902. There is a fine terracotta plaque of an eagle with the name above the door. Noted as having been the last beer only house in the area. The attached cottage next door has been converted into a live music venue that opened in October 2013. Handy for Manchester Arena. Won Salford CAMRA branch ‘Neil Richardson’ award for a fine example of a traditional unspoilt pub in 2020. The surrounding area is undergoing substantial redevelopment.

Warning: The Eagle Inn employs differential pricing where two half pints can cost more than a single pint.
