16 Hospitality

About the Pub

The pub was relaunched in 2012 as one of four pubs run by local pubco Kalton & Barlow, but since 2014 has been trading as 16 Hospitality under Edward Barlow only. It retains its strong local appeal as well as being noted for its food choice and quality. The interior is effectively one large room with subdivisions defining the public bar, lounge bar and dining room (including a spacious conservatory). Five beers are normally available, one being a changing guest. Tuesday evening is darts and quiz night, and there is live music on the last Saturday of the month. A beer festival is held in July. An initiative with Coach House brewery in Warrington at the time of writing in early 2017 is intended to produce a house beer based on the reaction and feedback of customers to different styles, colour and strengths of trial brews. Named the "Great British Ale Project" it introduces two extra beers on the bar and customer feedback forms are available for comments on each brew. Profits from experimental brews go to charity
