About the Pub

Located in Lincoln's Cathedral Quarter at the base of the castle walls is this small and popular pub, known to its locals as the Struggs, the small pub is big on character. A warm welcome from the staff, two real fires make it snug in winter, in summer the rear sunken terrace is a lunchtime sun-trap. Upcoming ales are listed on a chalkboard above one of the two fireplaces. Two dark ales usually feature among the frequently changing beer selection, with some stronger beers tending to appear at weekends. The walls and ceiling of the main bar are covered in pumpclips from the 600-plus different beers served each year. There's regular live music on most Sunday teatimes and occasional Saturday evenings plus there's a monthly book club in the Snug, but the main source of entertainment is conversation. Snacks such as filled rolls and pork pies are available. Winner of many local CAMRA awards including Lincolnshire Pub of the Year 2019. Has been identified by CAMRA as having a regionally important historic pub interior. Payment by cash only.
