About the Pub

Located in Lincoln's Cathedral Quarter at the base of the castle walls is this small and popular pub, known to its locals as the Struggs, the small pub is big on character. A warm welcome from the staff, two real fires make it snug in winter, in summer the rear sunken terrace is a lunchtime sun-trap. Upcoming ales are listed on a chalkboard above one of the two fireplaces. Two dark ales usually feature among the frequently changing beer selection, with some stronger beers tending to appear at weekends. A myriad of pump-clips of beers that have featured adorn the walls and ceilings in both the main bar and the snug There's regular live music on most Sunday teatimes and occasional Saturday evenings, but the main source of entertainment is conversation. Winner of many local CAMRA awards including Pub of the Year 2022 and Lincolnshire Pub of the Year 2019. Has been identified by CAMRA as having a regionally important historic pub interior.
