About the Pub

Reopened as 'Texas Steakhouse' on 16 May 2019. This now sells food with a steak emphasis. This is a large pub on two floors linked by a central feature staircase. No real ale is now sold, and there is a large range of keg beers along the bar.

Historic Interest

Formerly a long-established stationery shop 'Midland Educational', converted to a pub by Morland's Brewery ('Bar Beristo') in 1997. To Mansfield Brewery in 1999 and reopened as 'T P Woods & Co'; then renamed 'Parody' in 2002. It became 'Reynard' in 2009, when real ale was re-introduced. Acquired by Cameron's Brewery of Hartlepool in 2018 and reopened as Head of Steam on 5 April 2018. Reopened as Sanctuary on 1 March 2019; but this closed on 5 May 2019.
