About the Pub
The attractive black and white half timbered building dating from 1462 is the oldest pub in Bewdley, very nearly opposite the original old Town Hall. It has four rooms served from a single bar. There's an open fire in winter, and an ancient wooden beamed interior.
Five very well-presented beers from local breweries, cobs and pork pies are available. Hot meals are available on Wednesday and Saturday evenings (not January) and, from Easter 2022, a garden kitchen.
At the back is a pleasant beer garden with views over the town, and a partly enclosed lounge with high tables in adapted ancient out-buildings.
It's a well-supported friendly community pub serving up to five beers from local and regional breweries and a selection of Belgian bottled beers. Cider is from Severn Cider in Gloucestershire. Cobs and delicious local Wyre Pies are always available. Bar skittles, bagatelle and a selection of board games are available.
Folk music and song sessions are every 2nd Wednesday of the month in the bar, and on Sunday evenings there's a quiz at 8pm.
Local CAMRA Pub of the Autumn 2021 for its friendly community atmosphere and excellent beers and cider.
A little gem of a pub.
Cycles can be parked at the rear via the left hand passageway. If locked, ask at the bar.
