NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Under this stage of the roadmap in England pubs can only open outdoor areas and many will only be open for customers who have pre-booked. Alcohol can now also be sold for takeaway, as well as delivery.

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub

Newly refurbished in a style sympathetic to the name. The pub has three separate drinking areas, two served by a central bar with the third one underneath accessed by a spiral staircase. Food is served throughout. Close to the town hall, the letting rooms have car parking facilities in the original cobbled courtyard behind the pub accessed through the narrow coaching archway. Visiting coaches drop off to the front, so the pub is handy for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Reached by a raised entrance under the archway, a mixed clientele is atttracted to this popular town centre pub.
