NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Under this stage of the roadmap in England pubs can only open outdoor areas and many will only be open for customers who have pre-booked. Alcohol can now also be sold for takeaway, as well as delivery

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub

** Open from July 4th. Bookings: https://www.greeneking-pubs.co.uk/pubs/cumbria/royal-oak/ **

A vastly improved outlet since it became a Greene King Local Hero featuring local ales, its central position in the Ambleside honeypot encourages a busy trade of visitors and regulars - the outside covered seating is often full even in winter rain. The bar is efficiently run by friendly staff to avoid a bottleneck; other areas focus on dining and display old Lake District photos. Hungarian goulash speciality. Currently features Kirkby Lonsdale ales but may stock other local brews.
