About the Pub

Tucked away down a cobbled side lane leading to the river and opposite the Curzon cinema is one of the oldest pubs in Richmond dating back to at least 1660 (and rebuilt in 1898). However, what was the old Watermans Arms has been completely transformed and modernised to a high standard after a major refurbishment in 2019.

Although still a small pub the space has been utilised well with a compact dining area opposite the bar. Drinking spaces have been provided with stools and a ledge for glasses next to both the front and back windows. Also, via a short corridor from the bar is a new (but narrow) Garden Room.

The quality and comfort of the furnishings matches this now up-market establishment with food offerings to match. The pub is now principally aimed a diners other than community pub drinkers as in the past so expect drinks to be pricey. Front facing power and USB charging sockets have been thoughtfully incorporated under the bar. Wi-Fi is expected to be available soon. Upstairs is a small dining/meeting room (with a real fire place) available for private hire that can accommodate 16 people max.

NB. Closed until further notice. See notice.
