At this time, hospitality venues in England are not allowed to open but can operate takeaway and delivery services, providing that any takeaway alcohol is pre-ordered. Details of takeaway and delivery services may appear on this page if we become aware of them.

Before visiting any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub

A popular community pub in a Grade II listed building dating back to 18th century: a wooden wall panel lists landlords from 1727 to present owners Nick and Jane Witham, who took over in 1986. The walls are covered with water jugs, old pub photographs and local memorabilia, cups and trophies, including some Cooper’s tools. Good choice of real ales, and an extensive wine list. Five handpumps always in use with a guest beer from local breweries often available. Quiz night is the last Tuesday in the month. Beyond the bar is a dining room, known as Squiffy's Restaurant. They serve an extensive menu of tapas and traditional foods. Sunday lunches (booking essential), are served in the restaurant, and weather permitting, on the sun patio outside.

NB. Due to the current trading conditions caused by Covid-19 the pub has closed until further notice.
